Why Recycle Paper?

Today, 90% of paper pulp is made of wood. Paper production accounts for about 43% of harvested wood, and represents 1.2% of the world's total economic output. Recycling of saves about 1 tonne of wood while recycling 1 tonne (1.1 ton) of printing or copier paper saves slightly more than 2 tonnes of wood. This is because requires twice as much wood since it removes to produce higher quality fibers than mechanical pulping processes. Relating tonnes of paper recycled to the number of trees not cut is meaningless, since tree size varies tremendously and is the major factor in how much paper can be made from how many trees. Trees raised specifically for pulp production account for 16% of world pulp production, old growth forests 9% and second- and third- and more generation forests account for the balance. Most pulp mill operators practice to ensure a continuing supply of trees. It has been estimated that recycling half the world’s paper would avoid the harvesting of 20 million acres (80,000 km²) of forestland.

Hindi lang nakakabawas sa basura ang pag-recycle nakakatulong rin pala sa pangangalaga ng Kalikasan. Magaling!

Meron ako naisip na Proyekto. Gumawa ng mga Recycled Christmas Cards mula sa mga cards na matatanggap ngayong Pasko tapos ibebenta para naman sa susunod na Pasko.

Lahat ng gagamitin puro recycled, pati yung envelope at yung ilang bahagi ng card mula sa recycled paper. Siguro sa maliit na gastos malaki ang kikitain. At ang maganda pa dito nakatulong pa tayo sa Kalikasan!

We live in an extremely wasteful society. Christians should reduce waste as much as possible and be in the forefront of recycling activities. If there are no recycling facilities in the area, they should try to interest civic and religious organizations in providing such services. Where possible poeple should use paper products sparingly and show a preference for recycled paper. Cups and mugs are preferable to paper or styrofoam cups; cloth towels and nappies are more environmentally friendly than paper ones. Disposable goods should be avoided. Shoppers should aim to buy things that are reliable, can be repaired or refiled.

Use a basket when shopping, to minimize the use of plastic bags.

Dito sa office ko nasimulan ko na ang recycling... and daming used folder last election dahil involved boss ko.. kung gusto nyo ng maraming papel sabihin nyo lang papadalhan ko kayo hehehe.

Sa dati kong workplace..ganyan din..pinatutupad ang Waste Management!

Pero komento ko lang sa amin, masmaganda sana na bago sundin yung order na magrecycle etc. dapat lubos ang pagunawa sa kabuluhan kung bakit dapat gawin ang mga bagay na yaon...

yung iba kasi sa amin, dahil sa kailangan lang dahil inutos...dapat sundin!
na sana, kahit walang patakarang ganuon, gumagawa o habit na ang pagrecycle o pagpapakita ng pagmamahal sa kalikasan.
