SAN FRANCISCO -- Jollibee’s fried chicken just got an upgrade from tasty to truly “juicylicious” and “crispylicious.”

Over the past weekend, Jollibee introduced its “Chickenjoy” to the United States, with popular and award-winning actor, Aga Muhlach gracing the festivities. Muhlach, a Jollibee endorser for the past 10 years, is making a tour through the U.S. Jollibee franchises as part of the “Share a Chickenjoy with Aga” promo that was launched on Feb. 23.

The Jollibee team also made a special visit to the Philippine Consulate where Consul General Rowena Mendoza Sanchez was given limited edition Jollibee dolls and a Jollibee coffee table book.

After addresses by the Jollibee marketing team, Muhlach took the floor and apologized for being jetlagged but also expressed his gratitude for everyone being there and supporting Jollibee.

The event ended with a full meal that included the new Chickenjoy and Yumburger. Each of the two items contain the same flavor and style that are in the Philippines, as Jollibee moves towards allowing the customers in the United States to have the same delicious food as enjoyed in the Philippines.

Inez Reyes, VP of Marketing of Jollibee Philippines, said that Jollibee should not just be considered a restaurant, but also a haven and therefore they felt it was important for the U.S chains to carry the same “langhap-sarap” products as in the Philippines.

Jollibee will continue to incorporate more of the same items available in the Philippine chains into the U.S., including the macaroni soup and eventually the Jollibee hotdog.

In addition to the nine U.S. franchises that include Carson, Cerritos, West Covina, Eagle Rock, National City and Mira Mesa, Jollibee announced they will be opening a new franchise in Beverly Boulevard, Los Angeles and further down the line, one in Las Vegas as well.
