Paanong Nagsimula

It all started one lazy afternoon of September 9, 2007.

Isang member ng Youth Ministry sa simbahan ang inyong Punong Abala. Naisipan ko na gumawa ng isang Forum para sa mga kabataan na naglilingkod sa Simbahan.

Nais ko na gamitin ang Internet para mapalawak pa ang paglilingkod sa mga kabataan. Dahil sabi nga sa mga pag-aaral na ibinibigay nila sa amin na kailangan raw na "we have to go to where the young people are."

It was a very bold move knowing that most church youth leaders are not used in a Discussion Board format (Forum), they are more into Chats and Networking like Friendster and Multiply. Ngunit itinuloy ko pa rin ang aking munting alay para sa kanila.

Ang unang pangalan ng site ay "Kabataang Lingkod."

Maraming naman ang sumali. Ngunit hindi nagtagal ang Kabataang Lingkod dahil ilan lang sa mga nagrehistro ang sumali sa mga usapan. I have to make a decision if to continue or close down the site. I then remember Bobong Pinoy.

I am a member of the Bobong Pinoy and receives tons of emails from fellow BP members. I find it difficult to have a discussion in the BP YG. Not knowting that there is already an existing Forum used by BP, I changed the name of Kabataang Lingkod to Bobong Pinoy and changed the format of the site.

The site was able to encourage BP members and BP wanabee members to register in the forum. But as I have said earlier, I did not know that there was already a Forum being used by BP. I have to change the site name again so as not to be charged with "misrepresentation."

Then Kabataang Pinoy was born.

I did not change the date of birth of Kabataang Pinoy. I believe that the metamorphosis that we have undergone only reflects the development of the community. we are not just growing in numbers but we are also turning into a community with a purpose. though the original purpose in creating Kabataang Lingkod is to serve the young people, Kabataang Pinoy have the same purpose, and a lot more.

I've been witness to many encounters here in the site. Young people asking their Kuya and Ate for advice, members discussing political and social issues, friendly exchange of views with regards to religion and faith, and friendly discussion on issues affecting the young people. I was not expecting that kind of inter-action among the members. Akala ko nuon hindi ito posible. Pero nagawa natin ito dito sa KP.

We are now in the process of organizing. Thank you sa lahat nung mga nagbigay ng kanilang panahon upang ito ay maumpisahan.

Isang taon na ang nakalipas at binabagtas natin ang panibagong taon. Samahan niyo ako sa aking pangarap na magamit ang internet upang isulong ang adhikaing makatulong sa Kapwa at Bayan. Ang Kabataang Pinoy ay may paki-alam at patuloy na makiki-alam dahil nasa kamay ng mga Kabataan ang Kasalukuyan at ang Kinabukasan ng ating minamahal na Bayan.
